Inspiration from the archives

The Flowerpot from Lyngby Porcelæn is inspired by two of our precious darlings from the design archives, the classic Lyngbyvase and the charming Bonbonniere.

The Lyngbyvase has become one of the most iconic designs from Lyngby Porcelæn. When it was released in the late 1930´s it had a very modern and unique aesthetic. The oblong, fluted shapes and elegant simplicity was something brand new.

It marked the beginning of a new design era for Lyngby Porcelæn and along came many other designs equally inspired by the Bauhaus movement. One of them was the Bonbonniere. The charming bowl and lid was originally released in 1944 and only produced in a limited number.

Flowerpot is the result of gathering bits of inspiration from the two classics in order to create something new. It has the elegance of the Lyngbyvase, the charming shape of the Bonbonniere and yet a look that's all its own.
